<p>The biggest barrier to creating an accessible Internet is not browser support or badly designed syntax, but rather people's false beliefs of what accessibility is; what it means to 'be accessible'. For many people, being accessible means switching from <var>font</var> tags to <abbr>CSS</abbr>, using <var>em</var> tags for italics, and replacing <var>table</var>s with <var>div</var>s. <em>THAT IS NOT ACCESSIBILITY!</em></p>

<p>I have upgraded my old set of minimalist emoticons, which were 8-bit black-on-white and didn't look good on anything other than a white background.</p> <p>The <a href="http://www.hybridchill.com/projects/miniemotes.html">new edition of MiniEmotes</a> now uses alpha-transparency to ensure they look good against any background.</p>

<p>One of the great things about OSX is that it lets me talk to my computer. Of course, I can talk to my Windows PC too, but I don't need to be halucinating to receive a reply from my Mac.</p>
